Hi Families! We are counting down the days until Spring Break. The kiddos (and teachers) are ready for a break! There will not be any homework assigned over break. Please enjoy your relaxing family time. I will be doing a half vacation/ half helping my parents move into their new house. Therefore, I will be out the Monday and Tuesday after break. Mrs. Johnson and Ms. Pope will be with the kids for those days.

Gallery 111 Residency:
I am so excited to announce our Gallery 111 Residency! All first graders will participate in Ballroom Dance Lessons through May I Have This Dance. Our class will be learning a swing dance, The Charleston! We will have 6 weeks of lessons (every Tuesday morning at the Branch) and end or residency with a Dance Performance on June 4th. The performance will take place at the main building and will be around the 10:00 am hour. Details to come! Trust me.... this is one performance you don't want to miss!!! Save the date!
The dance lessons come from the funds raised from our annual Gallery 111 Gala. Thank you to all who contributed and helped our school with our art programs! Although there is not a fee for the lessons, we are asking for a $3.00 donation for dance costumes. The gentleman will be provided with bowties and the ladies will be provided with feather headbands.

Families...the performance day is going to be fantastic! It's my favorite day in first grade. I'll be the teacher in the corner crying with pride! We will need just a few volunteers on the day of the performance day to help with bowties and feather headbands. It's always fun to have parents there to help us get fancy! Please let me know if you can help out about 30 before our performance time. More details to come when they are finalized.
